The School Advisory Council provides policy guidance to support the programmatic needs of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, with a particular focus on Planning, Finance, and Development. The Council works to promote the implementation of these policies and ensures that all local policies align with the intent and spirit of those established by the Archdiocese of Portland for its Catholic schools.
While the Council offers counsel and support, administrative decisions remain the responsibility of the pastor in partnership with the principal, who leads the educational program in accordance with established policies.
Parents and guardians of students currently enrolled at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School are eligible to serve on the School Advisory Council, pending appointment and approval by the pastor.
The School Advisory Council typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month from September through June.
